The directors of Operation Shanti in the U.S. and in India come from diverse backgrounds. We share a common desire to contribute our resources, knowledge, and experience to help the poorest and neediest through our work. |
| Operation Shanti management and directors contribute our time voluntarily. We do not receive, nor do we expect, any compensation for our efforts. |
| Charitable work in a foreign country presents numerous challenges. Success requires patience and perseverance and, most importantly, assistance and guidance from knowledgeable and well-respected members of the local community. Our people in India are such individuals. They generously give their time and energy to our efforts, and are integral to the success of our work in India. |

| Operation Shanti is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the U.S. IRS Code, registered as American Society for International Shanti (ASIS). Operation Shanti was registered under the name Akhanda Seva for International Shanti (Operation Shanti in India) as a non-profit company under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act of 1956, and has 80G and 12A tax exemption status in India. |
